We visited two favorite Austin spots for the first time:
Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium and Zilker Park

At Zilker Park, we rode the miniature train - the Zilker Zephyr!
The Longhorns held an open football practice recently, so we went down to enjoy the atmosphere. It was an excellent trial run for taking Weston somewhere like that ... and the conclusion was that we will not take Weston to an event like that. We were able to sit at the end of a row with the other end blocked by the railing. He basically spent the entire time walking back and forth.
It had rained recently and there was water trapped under a small lip underneath the folding seats. Oh man, when he discovered that water would fall out from under the chairs when he flipped them down it was a sight to see. He pushed down all the seats on our row and all the ones in the row in front of us, laughing each time a gush of water fell. Occasionally, he pointed at the players and shouting "BALL" "YAY" or "AAHHH" (I don't know how to spell some of his shouts) or pointing at the sky and shouting "PLANE."
We saw lots of warm-ups and drills, unfortunately Weston's bedtime approached too quickly and we had to leave soon after they starting practicing real plays. Luckily, Weston doesn't try to hide his emotions, we knew when he laid down on the concrete stadium floor that he was ready for "ni-ni" (=night-night)
It is definitely fun for both mom and dad to be back in a college football town.

Then we spent some time on the playground. Playgrounds are really a lot of exercise if you are the parent of a toddler.
